Capturing those Carefree and Memorable Backpacking Moments on your Camera
It is very natural that you would want to capture the beautiful moments that you encounter on your backpacking tour in your camera so that they become lasting memories. These memories can be a real source of inspiration for you in the future, and will make you feel nostalgic reminiscing about those wonderful moments. It is, however important, especially if you are a novice, to learn a few tricks and facts about camera handling so that you are not left high and dry when the time demands you to snap a special moment.
While on a backpacking tour it is not necessary for you to bring all the equipment with you. A single camera body and a maximum of two lenses are all you need. A compact camera that can be manually operated is also a viable option; try something like the classic Samsung P1000 which is doing the backpacker community a great service over the years. Weight as always can be a real impediment during the tour. Hence tone down on fancy equipment, and instead focus on the ones that are an indispensable. Determine the kind of images that you want to have and arrange the equipments accordingly.
Make it a point to stay warm to ensure warm colours. A spot that is rich in colours like red, orange, or yellow is a great combination and you should do well to exploit it. If there are a lot less colours, say a tiny wildflower you are at a disadvantage, while something that fills the frame with colours make for a great combination. In case there are not enough colours, use your imagination to create the ideal situation.
Another important advice is, don’t have the biased opinion that natural settings cannot have human presence. Instead, it is far from the truth, and you should do well to include signs of human life.
When shooting a picture of the image try to have a proper perspective of the various details, and importantly try to capture the spirit of the place.
